July 30, 2019

Law firm Ashfords has launched a family team in Bristol with the appointment of Samantha Newton as a senior associate.

Samantha, pictured, has joined from rival Thrings, where she trained and worked for nearly seven years, most recently as a senior associate in its Bath office.

Described by legal directories as an ‘exceptional lawyer’ and ‘first-class solicitor’, Samantha provides expert advice on all areas of family law, specialising in divorce, dissolution and separation, and related financial and children matters.

She also has extensive experience in relationship planning advice, including the preparation of nuptial and cohabitation agreements, dealing with wider family disputes, disputes involving unmarried cohabiting couples, injunctive relief and protection.

She is a member of Resolution, the national organisation of family lawyers committed to non-confrontational divorce, separation and other family problems, and adopts a collaborative approach to family law.

Ashfords partner and head of its family team Zoe Porter said: “Samantha is a talented lawyer who brings further strength and expertise to our successful, growing, family team which will now also have a base in Bristol.

“We are excited to be able to offer our services to clients in the Bristol area and I’m delighted to welcome Samantha to Ashfords.”

Samantha added: “I am thrilled to be joining Ashfords and the specialist family team, helping expand the offering out of the growing Bristol office.

“It is exciting to join such a forward-thinking firm and I look forward to working alongside the other specialist teams as a trusted adviser to both existing and new clients.”

Ashfords employs around 500 people across its offices in Bristol, Exeter, London, Taunton, Tiverton and Plymouth.
