Jessie May children’s hospice – the Bristol charity providing nursing care at home for children and young people with life-limiting conditions – is to benefit from Bath Racecourse’s Big Bank Holiday Family Fun Day on Monday.

As well as a full day’s racing with seven races, there will be a range of events for families including appearances throughout the day in the Grandstand enclosure by children’s favourite Peppa Pig as well as a Shetland Pony race, storytelling from Frozen princesses Elsa and Anna, free face painting, bouncy castles, garden games, free martial arts training for children, and Archie the mascot who will be signing up junior members to the Young Hooves Club.

Bath Racecourse executive director Jo Hall said: “Our family events are always very well attended and we are expecting a good turnout for the Big Bank Holiday Family Fun Day as there is something for everybody.

“We are delighted to be fundraising on behalf of the Jessie May Hospice. The charity does very important work for children in the region and it is vital that the charity is supported by people and organisations across the region to enable them to continue in their efforts.”

Tickets are available from the racecourse or the Jessie May Trust, including a Fairy-tale package costing £23 for adults and £8 for kids and which includes entrance to the luxury marquee overlooking the parade ring, with exclusive story telling from Frozen princesses, opportunities for photos, and Young Hooves activities, tea and coffee for adults, and squash and snacks available for children all day.
