Two Export Week events will help female business owners expand or launch in new overseas markets and explain how a range of businesses can unlock the potential of South East Asian markets.
Export Week aims to encourage firms to consider trading internationally or, for existing exporters, to look at new markets.
UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), the Government organisation committed to boosting overseas trade, is staging a number of events during the week to help businesses with crucial questions and offer expert advice. 
The first event, today at Lackham House, Wiltshire College in Chippenham, is designed to assist and encourage women in business to expand or launch in new export markets.

Keynote speaker is best-selling author Nicola Cook, who has more than 20 years’ experience at the cutting edge of sales and human development, and is renowned for her engaging and energetic delivery which has inspired audiences across the globe.
Nicola will address how to explore export potential in her presentation entitled A Small World.
UKTI regional director Russell Jones said: “This event provides the perfect opportunity to network with fellow female business owners and to hear about the range of support available to help businesses realise their export potential.
“Through a combination of expert input and group discussions on exporting issues and international trade opportunities, we hope to inspire and encourage more of the region's businesswomen to explore new markets abroad for their products and services that are successful in the UK.”
Delegates will also be able to meet international trade experts on a one-to-one basis and hear from other businesses about their experiences trading overseas.

The second event is staged by The UK Asia Business Council (UKABC), which brings its regional roadshow to Bristol tomorrow, giving an oversight of South East Asia’s markets and rounding off Export Week.
Organised in conjunction with UKTI, the event at the Royal Marriott Hotel will illustrate how South East Asia is rich in opportunity and diversity with some of the most sophisticated markets in the world.
The region’s 10 markets – part of the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) economic block – boast a rapidly growing consumer class, average growth rates at 5%-plus and combined population of 600m.
The ASEAN market – made up of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam – has been valued at more than $2trillion and steady growth, combined with investor friendly government policies, have attracted businesses keen to explore the vibrant new domestic markets.
Russell Jones added: “The ASEAN market is a strategically-important region which continues to outperform the rest of the world. Whether they are already aware of the enticing business opportunities that South East Asia has to offer or not, the range of elements involved in this roadshow event will be informative and exciting for any company interested in expanding overseas.”
The event will provide a comprehensive toolkit of information and guidance, offering practical advice from trade specialists. Delegates will also be able to find out about the range of support available from UKTI to help businesses expand into this diverse region and hear from UK companies that have successfully exported there.
