Construction company Beard has recruited Sean Franks as contracts manager for its expanding Bristol office.

Sean, pictured, will be responsible for managing Beard’s building contracts across the city and surrounding area, controlling costs and keeping projects on track.

Swindon-headquartered Beard opened its Bristol office last year and has since won a number of high-profile contracts in the city.

Sean, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, brings a wealth of project management experience to his new role, having worked in the construction sector for 26 years.

He joins from Wates Group, where he worked for nearly 18 years, most recently as project manager for its Southern Home Countries region. He has also worked for Amec.

Beard Bristol construction director Mike Hedges said: “Sean is a very experienced project manager who will be a valuable addition to our Bristol construction team.

“We have some great projects underway which Sean will be managing including a major scheme for one of Bristol’s top visitor attractions.

“We’re delighted to have him on board as we continue to grow the business through prompt and faultless delivery of high-quality construction projects.”

Sean added: “I am truly excited to be joining Beard and being part of the Beard Bristol team.

“Their positive attitude towards their work and the projects they build is a great example of what building should be like.”

Beard, which also has bases in Oxford and Guildford, has recently been appointed by the ss Great Britain Trust to build its new national Brunel museum in Bristol, part of the £7.2m Being Brunel project.

It has also recently completed a £1.8m visitor centre on Clevedon’s iconic pier, the UK’s only operating Grade I-listed seaside pier.

The privately owned firm was established in 1892 and has significant expertise in building for the healthcare, arts and culture, commerce and industry, education, ecclesiastical, elderly care, sports and leisure and defence sectors.
