Experienced building consultant strengthens Bruton Knowles’ Bristol office team

Bruton Knowles, the national commercial property agency, has appointed experienced chartered building surveyor James Leeks to its Bristol-based building constancy team.

James was the national head of building consultancy at ES Group, responsible for a team of 14 chartered surveyors, prior to its acquisition by Lambert Smith Hampton acquisition, and has more than 20 years’ experience of the commercial property market.

His strengths include advising property owners on strategy and working with colleagues and professionals in associated disciplines to provide clear commercially focused advice that knits in with clients’ business objectives.

Previous clients include HSBC, Osborne Clarke, South West Water, Mitie, Bristol Water, Henderson and Avon Fire and Rescue.

Bruton Knowles Bristol team leader Paul Matthews said: “James’ appointment is a real coup for the Bristol office.

“His experience over wide ranging commercial property sectors such as higher and further education, industrial, offices and retail is just what we require to further develop the fast-growing team in Bristol.

“James will add further depth in terms of the range of services offered by the Bristol office, including project management, strategic estates advice, due diligence acquisition surveys, and dilapidations.”

James Leeks added: “Bruton Knowles has more than 150 years of surveying history providing professional property advice on a local and national basis and I am honoured to have been given the opportunity to develop the Bristol Building consultancy team.”

Bruton Knowles has 12 offices across the UK including Gloucester, Cardiff, Taunton and London as well as Bristol.
