Enterprise Zone to be set up in Bristol

Bristol is to get one of the 21 Enterprise Zones announced by George Osborne in his Budget. The zones are intended to boost enterprise and create jobs in deprived areas through incentives such as business rate reductions and high-speed broadband. The Bristol zone will be set up and run by the recently-formed, private sector-led West of England Local Enterprise Partnership. The location of the zone has not yet been revealed although some reports suggest it will include the former cattle market site next to Temple Meads station.
