Regional law firm Ashfords’ employment partner Stephen Moore has been appointed as head of its expanding Bristol office.

Stephen, pictured, will replace partner Andrew Betteridge, who is taking over as head of the corporate commercial department at the beginning of next year.

The change comes following a year in which Ashfords has increased its commitment to the Bristol marketplace by supporting a number of local initiatives including sponsoring a Shaun the Sheep sculpture as part of the Shaun in the City trail across Bristol and London and sponsoring Bristol’s Museum & Art Gallery, including the opening of the Hogarth summer exhibition.

The firm has also supported the Funding for Startups event with SPARKup at the University of Bath Innovation Centre through informative talks and workshops for entrepreneurs and has become a gold sponsor at the Tobacco Factory Theatre following its renovation.

Ashfords partner and joint CEO, Garry Mackay said: “Andrew has done a brilliant job for the last five years and I know that he remains very committed to Bristol.

“Stephen is highly regarded and a worthy successor to take on this role and continue the success of the Bristol office.”

Stephen Moore, who has worked for Ashfords for more than four and a half years, acts predominately for employers and senior executives across the country and for international clients from the US and Europe. He is recognised in the respected Chambers and Legal 500 guides and has been a Times Lawyer of the Week.

He holds membership of the Employment Lawyers Association, International Bar Association and in the New York Bar Association.
