Low-cost airline easyJet today announced a further three new routes to its growing portfolio of destinations from Bristol Airport. Starting in April and May next year, the airline will fly to Bilbao, Isle of Man and Zante.

EasyJet is already the airport’s largest operator and today’s announcement follows hot on the heels of its decision in October to add a 12th aircraft to its Bristol-based fleet and add new routes to Gibraltar, Porto, Lanzarote and Catania. In total, easyJet will have added seven more destinations to its Bristol operations next summer – taking the number to 53 – as part of a five-year agreement with Bristol Airport for continued growth.

The trio of new routes went on sale this morning.

EasyJet UK commercial manager Ali Gayward said: “Whether our customers want to marvel at Bilbao’s striking architecture, soak up the sun on Zante’s pristine beaches or wander the unspoilt hills and valleys on the Isle of Man, we’re confident that our new routes will be a popular choice.

“We’re committed to making it easy and affordable for our customers to travel, and our growth at Bristol has made it simpler for people in the surrounding areas to fly directly into Europe’s top airports, with no need for stop-offs or additional fuss.”

Bristol airport aviation director Shaun Browne added: “These three new routes show the further commitment by easyJet to Bristol Airport. They are a welcome addition to the expanding route network and provide improved connectivity for business and leisure passengers in the South West and Wales region.”
