The Bristol office of law firm Davies and Partners Solicitors has expanded its land acquisition department with the appointment of two specialist solicitors to help meet the growing demands from the region’s land developers and housebuilders.
Richard Vann Jones has joined the firm as an associate and acts for a client base of housebuilders, developers and landowners.
He brings substantial experience in negotiating complex sales and purchases of land, as well as related security documents. Prior to joining Davies and Partners, Richard worked for several large law firms in Bristol including Veale Wasbrough (now Veale Wasbrough Vizards), Bevan Brittan and Bond Pearce (now Bond Dickinson) and in-house for the Bank of Ireland.
Solicitor Emma Wyatt has also joined the land department. Emma deals with land acquisitions, disposals and land investigations. After five years working for Wiltshire Council, she has experience of property and planning matters gained within a local authority’s legal framework. In addition, she deals transfers of public open spaces, section 106 agreements and highways agreements.
Davies and Partners’ land department is headed by Stephen McColgan who, joined in 2004 and has nearly 30 years’ experience in the housebuilding and development sector.
Stephen acts for a number of the top 10 housebuilders and specialises in dealing with complex strategic land assembly and the property issues within consortiums and joint venture projects. He also acts for private developers and property investors.
