Scottish airline Loganair is to outsource its management of flight operations manuals to Vistair, the Bristol-based aviation safety reporting technology firm.

Vistair will replace Loganair’s in-house operation and provide document management, operational manual updates, and delivery to print, web, and electronic flight bag (EFB) platforms.

Loganair, a franchise partner of Flybe, celebrates its golden anniversary this year.

Manager of flight support Steve White said: “We examined the global market to provide for our technical manuals requirements. The result of that process was the decision to appoint Vistair, as the clear market leader.”

The Vistair contract will cover Loganair’s fleet of SAAB 340s, De Havilland Twin Otters, and Britten Norman Islanders, as well as its wholly-owned subsidiary Suckling Airways’ Dornier 328s.

Vistair managing director Ian Herbert said: “While our growing customer list includes many of the world’s biggest airlines, such as British Airways and Emirates, we are always thrilled to work with regional operators like Loganair, who provide crucial services for remoter regions.

“The airline industry is so often seen solely in terms of global routes, but airlines like Loganair are crucial to the economic prospects of peripheral and remoter regions of the world.”

Vistair, which has its head office at Almondsbury, designs and supplies cutting-edge airline and airport safety management systems that use online and paper documents.
