Data scientist joins Carterwood to keep its research processes at the forefront of the industry

Carterwood, the Bristol-based specialist property consultancy dedicated to social care, has appointed Henry Crosby as a data scientist to strengthen its research systems and data management.

Henry’s responsibilities include continuously improving and innovating in Carterwood’s research systems and the way it maintains and manages data.  

Henry, pictured, is the newest member of Carterwood’s multi award winning team, which has achieved a 34% increase in its services over the first six months this year compared to the same period in 2016.

He joins following a four-year research scholarship with Assured Property Group in Warwick. Henry, who, specialises in three key technical languages, including SQL, R and Python, is additionally currently completing a PhD at the University of Warwick on geospatial data science techniques to better understand the real estate valuation process.

Carterwood director Ben Hartley said: “Data is integral to our consultancy work, providing the foundation for all our market reports. Henry’s appointment will help ensure our research processes stay at the forefront of the industry, and give our clients peace of mind that our data management, quality and sourcing is outstanding.”

Henry added: “IT offers so much scope to improve current processes. I am excited to join Carterwood and keen to make a positive difference. Developing Carterwood’s intellectual property is high on my agenda.”

Carterwood was established in 2008 by directors Amanda Nurse and Ben Hartley and provides consultancy, valuation and agency services to financial institutions, investors, developers, and 90% of the top 20 care providers, as well as many smaller operators. 

It has strong links with key sector bodies, including the National Care Forum, Care England, Housing LIN and ARCO.
