The pensions team at Bristol-headquartered law firm Burges Salmon has been shortlisted for a major award in recognition of its innovation and performance.

The team is up against 10 other UK legal practices in the ‘Pensions Lawyers of the Year’ category at the 2020 UK Pensions Awards.

The prestigious awards recognise the highest levels of innovation, performance and service provided by advisers, providers and investment managers for occupational pension schemes and their members.

Burges Salmon said the shortlisting was testament to the team’s work advising on both complex and commonplace legal issues for clients along with a commitment to establishing innovative and efficient ways of responding to the changing market.

Over the past year the practice continued to operate at the cutting edge of pensions regulation with the team acting on some of The Pensions Regulator’s (TPR) biggest ongoing regulatory actions.

Burges Salmon partner Richard Knight, pictured, who heads the firm’s pensions practice, said: “We’re a forward-thinking team, operating nationwide as well as internationally, and we’re committed to continuous improvement and to innovating where possible to ensure we deliver exceptional client service.

“It’s fantastic that these efforts and the successes of the practice in the past year have been recognised by the shortlisting in the UK Pensions Awards.”

The winners of the UK Pensions Awards 2020 will be revealed at a ceremony due to take place in London in September.
