South West law firm Ashfords, which has a major office in Bristol, has appointed James Lyons as a partner in its corporate and commercial team.
James joins from international law firm Trowers & Hamlins where he worked in corporate law for six years, five of them as a partner. Prior to that he worked at major firm Olswang for six years.
James, who began his career at Allen & Overy after qualifying in 1998, specialises in all forms of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and joint ventures for both private and public sector firms.

Simon Rous, chairman and head of corporate at Ashfords, added: "James has extensive experience in corporate law and will no doubt be a significant asset for the team.”
