Leading lights from the creative industry are in Bristol today and tomorrow to take part in a conference aimed at supporting the region’s burgeoning creative sector.

Called Vision, the high-profile event is organised by Bristol Media and hosted by the Arnolfini and brings together more than 20 speakers from across the UK and beyond to look at how the creative industries can spur economic growth.

Speakers include Anglo-American entrepreneur, writer and broadcaster Andrew Keen, co-founder of legendary ad agency HHCL Steve Henry, vice-chairman of Ogilvy Group UK Rory Sutherland, and Ian Armstrong, European Communications Manager for Honda Europe.

More than 100 delegates are taking part in workshops and sessions throughout the two days.

Bristol Media chairman Paul Appleby said: “The UK’s creative economy is probably the largest creative sector in the world. Due to this, we have the opportunity to lead by example. We want Vision to encourage people to think about business challenges in new ways so that guests can accumulate new ideas on how they can grow and stand out in their sector.

“The event is also an opportunity to network with like-minded people, and share knowledge and experience.”

He said that the government’s announcement that the creative industry can support much-needed economic growth in the UK also acted as a prompt to encourage businesses to explore new avenues of growth.”
