All the current final year trainee solicitors at Burges Salmon, the national law firm with its headquarters in Bristol, have been offered positions when they qualify in September.

All 28 trainees have formally accepted a position at the firm and will work across a range of practices and sector groups including real estate, disputes and litigation, employment, construction and engineering, commercial, corporate and pensions.

The firm’s trainee retention rate has averaged 92% over the past three years – 91% in 2014, 100% in 2015 and 85% last year.

Burges Salmon chief people officer Robert Halton said: “It’s wonderful news that all of our trainees will be staying with us when they qualify in September. This reflects their hard work and commitment during their training and the support of so many other members of the firm. Our trainees and apprentices are important contributors to the continued success of Burges Salmon.”

As part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to support new talent in the industry, Burges Salmon has since March 2014 been involved in the apprenticeship Trailblazers initiative and is one of the first UK law firms to employ apprentices under its new standards.
