Law firm Clarke Willmott, which has a major office in Bristol, has been awarded the latest version of the Law Society’s legal practice quality mark – making it the 15th consecutive year it has received the accolade.

Clarke Willmott is one of the first law firms to have received the recently launched version 6 of Lexcel, the nationally recognised accreditation which assesses law firms and in-house legal departments and gives assurance that a practice meets high client care and business management standards.

In order to retain its full Lexcel credentials, Clarke Willmott underwent a rigorous application and assessment process.

The firm’s chief executive Stephen Rosser, pictured, said: “There is a lot of competition in the legal sector but our re-accreditation really singles us out as a reliable, professional and proficient firm. It demonstrates our commitment to client care and best practice and I would like to personally thank the whole of the team for their efforts in securing the accreditation.”

Law Society of England and Wales president Jonathan Smithers added: “Gaining and maintaining Lexcel is a considerate feat. There are many facets of being a Lexcel accredited law firm, including excellence in client care. A real commitment to customer service in today’s evermore competitive legal services market is vital.

“By undergoing the rigorous Lexcel application and assessment process, practices can show the positive steps which they are taking to help clients in the increasingly diverse and complicated legal services market.

“The scheme is a beacon of quality to clients and potential clients alike.”

Clarke Willmott employs more than 85 partners and 500-plus staff across its offices in Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton and Taunton.

Its range of legal services span property, planning, construction, dispute resolution, corporate and commercial, intellectual property, employment and HR consultancy, personal injury, clinical negligence, insolvency and debt recovery.
