The challenges and opportunities of investing in infrastructure are to be put under the spotlight at an event next month staged by Bristol-based wealth management firm Whitechurch Securities, law firm Burges Salmon and London-based investment research consultancy Hardman & Co.

The event, at Burges Salmon’s Bristol office on March 13, will look at how infrastructure is now an important part of a diverse investment portfolio delivering good levels of income. Many pension funds, for instance, are made up of infrastructure projects.

But in an age of rapid technological change, it is important to look at what will impact on future infrastructure projects, how they will be shaped by emerging technologies and whether the UK can keep pace with new developments.

A panel of industry experts will discuss aspects of infrastructure, from implementation to investment at portfolio level.

On the panel will be:

  • Tom Callow, director of communication & strategy, Chargemaster
  • David Conlon, director, Gravis UK Infrastructure Fund
  • Kotaro Miyata, investment director, M&G Investments
  • Simon Gallagher, technical director, TriConnex
  • Nigel Hawkins, infrastructure analyst at Hardman & Co

Whitechurch senior investment manager Tom Sayers, who will chair the panel, said: “The Bristol Infrastructure Forum is a chance to hear from industry experts and pose questions to a panel covering all aspects of infrastructure from project financing to implementation.”

Registration is from 4.30pm with session starting at 5pm. It will be followed by networking, drinks and canapes until 7pm.
