The Bristol Leadership Centre has been launched to support organisations and individuals grappling with the challenges of change, complexity and uncertainty.

Based at the UWE’s Bristol Business School, the centre is one of largest of its kind in the country and taps into a growing need for effective and responsible leadership in many walks of life.

Leadership is among the most highly-valued – yet elusive – processes within contemporary society as demonstrated by recent crises in public and private sector organisations which have highlighted the benefits of good, and the perils of poor, leadership practice.

While commentators agree on the need for better leadership, how this is developed, understood and sustained remains a topic of much debate.

Centre director Prof Richard Bolden, pictured, said: “UWE Bristol has a long and impressive history of leadership education, research and business engagement. The launch of Bristol Leadership Centre offers a great opportunity to extend this work to many more individuals and organisations within and beyond the region.”

Alongside their teaching and research commitments members provide key contributions to business engagement and knowledge exchange, including the delivery of Executive Development Programme, ILM-accredited programmes and professional short courses.

Organisations can also take advantage of the research and organisational consultancy service offered by the Centre, by contacting BLC@uwe.ac.uk to discuss their requirements.
