A 24-hour sponsored bike ride completed during the recent heatwave by Matthew Prior, a director in the Bristol office of property agency CBRE director, has raised more than £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Matthew, pictured, a director in CBRE South West’s building consultancy team, cycled 300 miles in 24 hours to bring in the money for Macmillan, the official charity partner of CBRE in the UK.

He said: “The furthest I have ever cycled in one trip is 200 miles, so it was a big challenge that stretched me into unknown territory.

“But it was important to raise money for such an important cause that is very close to my own heart and that kept me motivated when things got tough.

“Sadly, my Dad died from cancer three years ago and the care he received during his treatment and the support given to my family during this time was invaluable.

“With the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, people need Macmillan’s support more than ever.”

The partnership with CBRE helps Macmillan develop its telephone, online and virtual support services and help thousands more people with financial and emotional support.
