A team from Bristol-headquartered law firm Burges Salmon has advised a US-based brand experience business on a major UK acquisition – the latest cross-border deal for its corporate and merger & acquisition team.

Moss, which specialises in premium graphics and custom installations for exhibitions and retail environments for clients such as McDonald’s, Skechers and Macy’s, has taken over Macro Art, a graphics, branding and signage company located in Cambridgeshire.

With a presence already in Germany and Poland, adding Macro Art complements Moss’s European portfolio and supports its expansion strategy to build sustainable and high-quality branded experiences for its growing international client base.

Established in 1992, St Neots-based MacroArt serves clients across live events, retail, sport, heritage, property and visitor attractions.

The Burges Salmon lawyers advising Moss, which is headquartered near Chicago, were led by Bristol-based partner Andrew Mills from the firm’s corporate and merger & acquisition team.

Andrew, pictured, said: “Doing business in the UK for the first time is as exciting as it is complex and, with 30% of our client base located outside of the UK, we are perfectly placed to advise overseas clients targeting the UK to support their growth.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Moss on its acquisition of Macro Art, signalling its entry into the UK market and supporting its growth strategy across Europe.”

Moss president and CEO Jason Popp added: “The UK is clearly an established and vibrant market for experiential, entertainment, sport and retail brand marketers.

“We are delighted to welcome the talented Macro Art team and their clients to Moss and look forward to an exciting future ahead.

“Our footprint of production facilities in the US, Germany, Poland, and now the UK, ensures we are able to support clients in a consistent and effective way regardless of where their branded experience is.

“We’re grateful to the Burges Salmon team for guiding us through this important acquisition from inception to completion.”

Burges Salmon, which employs more than 1,100 people across its offices in Bristol, Edinburgh and London, has a strong corporate practice in the UK, advising clients across a broad range of sectors, including the creative industry.

Much of the firm’s work has an international element, helping overseas clients expand into the UK and supporting UK-based businesses grow internationally.
