A senior associate from Bristol-headquartered national law firm Burges Salmon’s tax, trusts, and family team has been recognised as a rising star of the private wealth sector for the second year running.

Ronnie Myers is named among eprivateclient’s Top 35 Under 35, the definitive and original list of the sector’s up-and-coming individuals.

The initiative identifies, recognises, promotes and introduces the rising stars of the private client practitioner community in the UK.

Ronnie, who appeared in the same list last year and was also a finalist in the Young Practitioner of the Year category in the 2019/20 Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Private Client Awards, specialises in providing tax and trust advice to high net worth and ultra-high net worth international individuals, financial institutions and international trust companies.

He works for individuals who are UK resident but not UK domiciled on a variety of areas including personal taxation, planning for moving to or leaving the UK, taxation and planning in relation to trusts, succession planning, and high value UK real estate structuring and taxation.

He also has extensive experience advising a number of international trust companies on the tax implications of their trust structures.

Having completed the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates (England & Wales) with distinction, Ronnie is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and has also spoken at a number of STEP and Law Society events as well as writing for the STEP Journal.

He said: “I am grateful to have been chosen as one of the 2022 eprivateclient Top 35 Under 35. Tax can be a complex area to navigate, but I thoroughly enjoy being a trusted advisor to our clients.”

Head of Burges Salmon Private Wealth sector Beatrice Puoti added: “I am very proud of Ronnie for earning this accolade again, which is well deserved. Our private wealth lawyers are amongst some of the best in the sector, and I am grateful for both the strength and dedication of the team and the calibre of our clients.”

Burges Salmon, which employs 800 people in its Bristol HQ and London and Edinburgh offices, was shortlisted in three categories at June’s Chambers High Net Worth Awards 2022 while Beatrice Puoti appeared in the latest eprivateclient 50 Most Influential table, which recognises the key figures in the sector who provide the best possible advice and service for clients while driving innovation in the way the needs of global clients are met.
