Bristol-headquartered national law firm Burges Salmon has advised a subsidiary of long-standing client, wind farm development company Infinergy, on the development and financing of a project in Cumbria.

Mean Moor Wind Farm will include three wind turbines as part of a five-turbine Furness Wind Farm scheme.

The Burges Salmon team advised Mean Moor on the commissioning, construction and operation of the three 2.3MW turbines. Bristol-based Triodos Bank provided financing for the project. The funding deal closed this afternoon.

The Burges Salmon team was led by partner Graham Soar with advice covering banking, real estate, energy, construction, corporate and tax.

Graham Soar, pictured, said: “We are delighted to have advised Mean Moor on this wind farm project and we congratulate the Infinergy team on achieving financial close.”

Infinergy finance director Tjiwolt Wierda said: “Infinergy is very pleased to have reached financial close for Mean Moor. Burges Salmon’s support in this process has been a great help in achieving this important milestone.”

Furness is a split ownership development between Infinergy and community energy co-operative Baywind Energy. Baywind owns the remaining two turbines through a newly set up community energy society called High Winds.
