Legal recruitment consultancy Austen Lloyd has relocated its head office from Backwell, North Somerset, to Bristol city centre as part of its on-going expansion from a regional player towards becoming a national firm.

The move, to a 1,017sq ft office in Queen Square, places the consultancy at the heart of Bristol’s burgeoning legal market and comes as more firms in the sector target the city for expansion.

Austen Lloyd recruits legal candidates for newly-qualified to partner level roles in private practices and in-house organisations across the UK. The firm is undergoing a significant recruitment drive to meet demand.

The relocation to 14 – 16 Queen Square, a prominent four-storey office building with open plan office space behind a period-style façade, was secured by the Bristol office of property consultants Jones Lang LaSalle on behalf of Faircroft Real Estate.

Austen Lloyd director Charlotte Wills said: “Over the last few years our business has gone from strength to strength and we’re quickly growing our local and national presence. We wanted to acquire more space to expand the team but also find a base in central Bristol at the hub of the South West legal market.

“Queen Square is one of Bristol’s most prestigious business addresses and puts us in a better position to provide the one-to-one, bespoke service we offer our candidates and clients.”

Steve Lane, surveyor in Jones Lang LaSalle’s Bristol office agency team, added: “The Queen Square office has an unrivalled location in the heart of Bristol’s legal and professional services quarter and provides a great base for Austen Lloyd to grow its business.”
