Privately owned Henbury Lodge Hotel, which was recently named as the best in Bristol, has been sold.

The 20-bedroom luxury hotel, pictured, changed hands for an undisclosed sum. It was recently voted the top hotel in Bristol on TripAdvisor.

The hotel occupies an historically-significant Grade II listed building in which dates back to the 1600s. The new buyers have retained the existing management team and staff of 16 people.

The sale was handled by lawyers in the Bath office of regional firm Royds Withy King, who acted for the private sellers.

Head of the firm’s leisure and hospitality team, Caroline Entwistle, said: “It was a pleasure to work with our clients to secure a swift and successful sale within the agreed timescales to a local business.

The property has great character and was voted the top hotel in Bristol on TripAdvisor, so its appeal is easy to see.”

The identities of the sellers and buyers have remained under wraps.
