Bristol hi-tech pioneers in national fast-growth table

Bristol firms Smart Traffic, the UK’s largest SEO (search engine optimisation) specialist, and IT development consultancy Mosaic Island, have been named as two of the UK’s fastest-growing hi-tech businesses.

The firms appear in the Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 rankings which is published this Sunday.

The table, sponsored by Hiscox and Barclays, lists the fastest-growing technology, media and telecoms companies in the country.

Smart Traffic was set up six years ago and has fulfilled its ambition to be the UK’s largest SEO specialist. Today it employs more than 170 people on its offices in Bristol’s Victoria Street, London and Sydney, Australia. It provides SEO and other digital services to a small and medium-sized businesses across a range of sectors.

It first appeared in the table last year at number 10 and this year is in again at 42 having achieved an average annual growth rate over the past three years of 68%. Its latest annual sales were close to £6.2m.

Mosaic Island, which appears in the table for the first time, is ranked 84th having achieved annual sales growth of 43% over the past three years. Its latest sales were £7.9m and its customers include Which?, Sky, AOL and mobile phone firm Orange parent group Everything Everywhere (now EE).
