The sales and projects division of Warmley-based Power Electrics Generators (PEG) is to be acquired by one of the UK’s leading providers of diesel and gas generators in a deal struck by owners John and Andy Pullin.

PEG, which employs around 30 people, sells, commissions and installs generators to a blue-chip customer base in the datacentre, industrial and utilities sectors.

It is widely recognised as one of the country’s most experienced generator sales specialists in the UK.

The acquisition by Glasgow-based DTGen will create one of the largest dedicated generator companies in the UK with turnover in excess of £30m and more than 100 employees across three locations.

DTGen said the move would add considerable capacity and expertise to its national coverage, extending it into the South of England and adding to its bases in Scotland and the Midlands.

It also said there are plans to continue to invest significantly in the business to further build on its national footprint.

DTGen chairman Paul Moore said: “This is an exciting development for our business, and for the wider generator industry.

“We’re creating a truly national generator business of scale, and this deal will accelerate our expansion throughout the UK.

“Our businesses have known each other for a long time, we operate with similar values and we’re looking forward to supporting our customers with their power requirements.”

PEG’s diesel generator sales department offers a range of generators and provides a single source solution for all generator requirements.

PEG director Andy Pullin added: “This is the start of an exciting new chapter for PEG. There is a great fit with DTGen which has a clear strategy for growth in the UK generator market.

“It will be able to make further investment in our people and capabilities – supporting our customers on a more national basis, whilst still retaining the specialist nature of our business.”
