More than 400 guests were welcomed by accountancy, investment management and tax group Smith & Williamson to its annual client event at the Royal West of England Academy.

The business owners, directors, professional advisors, private individuals and trustees enjoyed a drinks reception and private viewing of more than 500 drawings, paintings, illustrations, photographs, multimedia works and sculptures making up the RWA’s 164th Open Art Exhibition, which is sponsored by Smith & Williamson.
(RWA).

Mike Lea, managing partner at Smith & Williamson’s 200-strong Bristol office, said: “This is the ninth year we have hosted our client event at the RWA and, once again, we had an excellent turnout.

“This event is one of the highlights of Smith & Williamson’s social calendar and it is our opportunity to say thank you to our loyal clients for their ongoing support.”

Partner and head of investment management in Bristol, John Erskine, added: “We had an excellent evening, catching up with clients and marvelling at the diversity of the artwork on display by exciting new artists as well as more familiar names.

“The RWA provides a great venue and we hope that our clients enjoyed themselves as much as we did.”
