Bristol communications agency Purplefish has taken on Fatin Guled as an intern as part of a new scheme to promote diversity in the creative sector.

Fatin, 18, pictured, came to Purplefish through Represent, a start-up organisation dedicated to improving inclusion and equality in the creative sector which was launched last year by Purplefish managing director Joanna Randall and Liz Gadd.

Fatin, who is awaiting the results of her A-levels in Chemistry, Biology and English Literature, has joined Purplefish for an internship lasting for the month of July.

Fatin was one of seven young women to organise Bristol’s recent anti-austerity protest and co-led a BME society. She continues to be an active member of Bristol’s anti-FGM movement.

She said: “Working at Purplefish is a great opportunity to see what Bristol’s creative sector is like. Joanna’s passion for her work really appealed to me, as I’m looking for a job or course that I’ll love.”

Joanna said: “We’re really enjoying having Fatin as part of the Purplefish team, and it’s a wonderful opportunity for her to break into the creative sector.”
