National law firm Bond Dickinson’s Bristol office has raised more than £13,000 for the city’s Ronald McDonald House, its charity of the year.

Ronald McDonald House is an independent charity that provides free home-from-home accommodation to the families of critically ill children receiving care at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

Bond Dickinson staged a range of activities this year including cake sales, photography competitions, sponsored runs, quizzes, fayres, film nights, golf days at the Celtic Manor and payroll giving.

The firm was also the headline sponsor at this year’s golf day which raised over £33,000 for the charity.

In the past couple of years, Bond Dickinson’s 250 Bristol staff have also dedicated more than 800 hours of their time, supporting the charity through volunteering and other charitable activities. This equates to a time investment worth more than £100,000.

Bond Dickinson partner and Bristol office head of CSR Ewen Macgregor said: “We are humbled by the fantastic work Ronald McDonald House Bristol does to ensure that hundreds of families are able to stay together in what are very heart-rending and emotionally stressful situations.

“We are delighted with the amount we have been able to raise and the time that we have given and I want to say a huge thank you to the whole team in Bristol who have made such tremendous efforts to support this great cause.

“Giving back to the local community has always been one of Bond Dickinson’s values. We strongly believe that successful businesses should play an essential role in supporting local communities, which is why we support a number of causes locally and nationally including Bristol Sport Community Foundation, Oasis Academy, Survive and The Princes Trust to name a few.”

Ronald McDonald House Bristol corporate fundraiser and events coordinator Anna Palmer added: “Thank you does not even begin to express our gratitude for the fantastic support we have received from Bond Dickinson over the past two years.

“The firm has been so enthusiastic and supportive of us from the outset. When we were given £2,000 in February 2015 to replace our failing washing machines and tumble driers we knew the firm would have a positive impact on Ronald McDonald House Bristol.

“From donating office supplies, providing hampers for each of our 21 families at Christmas, to collecting raffle prizes and gardening, Bond Dickinson has been tireless in supporting us.

“Bond Dickinson has shown such generosity, selflessness and altruism, we cannot thank them enough for all they have done for us and for the 882 families we have looked after in the past two years.

“The partnership with Bond Dickinson has been an incredibly unique experience and their legacy will remain with us whilst we continue to support families for many years to come.”
