South West regional law firm Foot Anstey and national firm Bond Dickinson, which has its second largest office in Bristol, are to go head to head for one of the legal sector’s most prestigious awards.

Both firms are shortlisted in the UK Law Firm of the Year category in this year’s British Legal Awards.

They are competing against the UK office of international firm Mishcon de Reya and major national rivals such as Shoosmiths in the eight-way battle.

Hosted by Legal Week magazine in association with The City of London Law Society, the British Legal Awards are the leading awards for the UK’s business law community acting as a showcase for the achievements of one of the country’s most successful sectors. The winners will be selected by a high calibre judging panel of some of the industry’s leading figures.

Foot Anstey has offices in Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Taunton and Truro, while Bond Dickinson operates from eight offices across the UK, including Bristol.

Bond Dickinson managing partner Jonathan Blair said: “Being shortlisted for UK Law Firm of the Year at the prestigious British Legal Awards is testament to the hard work of all our staff. Our last financial year saw revenues increase by 7% to £106.4m due to the number of mandates we won from some of the UK’s biggest companies across multiple legal disciplines. We will continue to grow by offering our clients an exceptional service combined with in-depth legal knowledge and expertise.”

The winners will be presented with their awards at a ceremony on November 25 at Old Billingsgate Market, London.
