The Bristol office of regional accountancy group Bishop Fleming has appointed two new managers to audit team as it continues to expand into one of the largest in the region, having grown substantially in the past few years.

Michael Pallot joins as a senior manager having previously worked in a similar role in the Bristol office of Big Four firm Deloitte. He has wide ranging experience from advising owner managed firms to auditing FTSE 100 companies.

Christian Crawford joins the audit team as a manager from Albert Goodman in Taunton. He has a number of years’ experience in practice and industry and looks after a mixed portfolio of clients, with an interest in large companies and groups.

Bishop Fleming, which has seven offices across the South West and Midlands and delivers accounting, tax, corporate restructuring and advisory services to businesses, academies and charities and private wealth advice to individuals, has also recruited two tax managers to the tax team in its Bath office.

Joe Grimes and John Mitchell have both arrived from Big Four firm KPMG’s Bristol office. The pair, both chartered tax advisers, also previously worked in Smith & Williamson’s Bristol office.

Bishop Fleming partner in charge of the Bristol office, Jonathan Williams, said: “With the economies of both Bath and Bristol continuing to grow, we are recruiting to reflect the increasing demand for our tax and audit services, as well as continuing to develop our existing teams with professional training programmes.

“Recruitment is a key part of our ambitious growth plans, alongside significant investment in IT, data analytics, remote working software and video conferencing facilities, so the Bath and Bristol teams can work closely together and call on a further substantial body of specialists from across the firm’s other five offices to help meet client needs.”

Bishop Fleming is ranked 26th in the Sunday Times Top 100 places to work, accredited as an ‘outstanding’ employer. It is also ranked in the Top 30 league table of accountancy firms in the country.

The firm advises SMEs, owner-managed businesses, large corporates, charities, public sector organisations and individual clients, and is acknowledged as the number one adviser to academies in the education sector.
