Big Brother’s Josie Gibson to get jiggy in her home city with Made in Bristol dating show

TV station Made in Bristol is to broadcast a new dating show featuring Josie Gibson, the former Big Brother star and recent contestant in Channel 4 series The Jump.

In Getting Jiggy with Josie, which first airs at 8pm on Friday, April 21, contestants will be blindfolded while their dating hopefuls assess them with probing questions about their lives and loves.

They will then be asked to spin the ‘Jiggy Wheel’ and, depending where it lands, complete one of three tasks while still blindfolded: ‘Touch freely’, ‘show us your moves’ or ‘the taste test’.

The six-part weekly series has been produced in association with a new dating app JigTalk, designed for people who wish to get to know each other before meeting, rather than basing their assessment purely on looks.

Sixteen jigsaw pieces initially cover each person’s image but are removed one by one as the users are exchanging messages – or ‘JigTalking’ – to reveal who they are.

The show’s final test will involve the winning contestant being escorted, while still blindfolded, on a romantic date for two. As the blindfold is removed, the pair have to decide if they wish to continue dating.

Bristol-born Josie said: “I can’t wait to get started. My Cupid’s bow is poised and I’m really looking forward to meeting the contestants and giving them a really good grilling.

“I’m hoping to make as many love matches as possible and to have lots of fun along the way.”

Made in Bristol TV, which went live in October 2014, is part of the Made Television stable of local TV stations across the UK. It is available on Freeview channel 8, Virgin Media 159 and Sky 117.
