Facilities management business Almeda has recruited Ben Arbery, who joins the family business as associate director.

He will work alongside Brady George, who recently took over from his father Gary as managing director.

Ben spent 15 years working in the financial services industry, initially as a financial adviser and mortgage broker and latterly as a financial services assessor. He worked for a host of companies including John Charcol and the Cooperative.

He said it was Keynsham-based Almeda’s burgeoning reputation as a pioneering business that influenced him to join.

In his new role he will be responsible for working with existing clients, developing new business and helping the senior team to take advantage of new commercial opportunities.

He said: “I’d heard so many good things about Almeda and how they are pioneering a new way of business, focusing on people and the planet as well as profits. It’s a happy place to be; a business that invests in its staff and creates a culture and movement for change and social responsibility.

“It’s committed to being the best and I’m excited to a part of shaping Almeda’s future.”

Brady George said that together with his management team, he spent months talking to Ben about taking on the role.

“He adds a wealth of experience and will prove to be a senior appointment that makes a huge difference to the business,” he said.

Almeda, which has a turnover of just under £6m, has a blue-chip roster of clients including the At-Bristol science centre, the Arnolfini art gallery, Bristol & Bath Science Park and the SS Great Britain.
