A string of flagship deals in Bristol helped regional property consultancy Alder King retain its title as the South West’s most active agent for an unprecedented 16th year in succession.

As well as winning the overall title, the Bristol-based firm, which also has office across the region, was ranked top in the offices, industrial and investment sectors in what it described as “another barnstorming year of transactional activity”.

The annual rankings by property publication Estates Gazette present a detailed breakdown by region and sector to show which companies transacted the most deals during the year. The latest offer intriguing evidence of how firms weathered the tumultuous national and global events of 2016.

Simon Price, head of agency at Alder King’s Bristol office, pictured, said: “We’re the only firm in the UK to have won the competition for 16 consecutive years, which is an incredible achievement.

“Despite the turbulent events of last year, we succeeded once again in delivering many of the region’s largest and most significant transactions, which is something we’re very proud of.”

Among the top deals handled by Alder King’s Bristol office during 2016 were the 107,000 sq ft office pre-let at 3 Glass Wharf in Bristol to HMRC on behalf of Salmon Harvester/NFUM, the sale of the former Interbrew facility on Eastern Avenue in Gloucester, and the investment acquisition of the Hermes Parcelnet unit at Access 18 in Avonmouth.

Simon added: “Prospects for 2017 look very encouraging with more high-profile transactions in the pipeline, despite tightening supply in many locations. We look forward to building further on our market-leading position.”
