West of England accountancy firm Bishop Fleming, which has an office in Bristol, has successfully reduced its annual paper consumption by more than a third, saving the equivalent of 87 trees.
Since introducing an environmental management system five years ago to measure three main key performance indicators – electricity and gas usage, mileage, and paper ordered – the firm’s overall environmental performance is now much greener.
This achievement comes despite the firm’s growth of more than 5% in 2015. 
Alongside the reduction in paper usage – attributed in part to the firm’s continued investment in IT – its electricity and gas usage and mileage are also lower.
Electricity and gas use was down 4.6% per employee and mileage – measured by per £000 income – was 14.5% lower

The firm, which was recently ranked 49th in The Sunday Times’ 100 Best Companies to Work For report, also has offices in Bath, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Truro, and Worcester.
