The tenant advisory team at Bristol-headquartered national law firm Burges Salmon has advised high-end brand Beauty Pie on its acquisition of new London head office.

The UK’s first luxury beauty buyers’ club, Beauty Pie has grown rapidly in recent years by selling products at cost price to its members.

The firm acquired its new West End office space by way of an underlease from the building’s owner, online gaming business Gamesys Group.

The Burges Salmon team supported Beauty Pie in both the real estate and construction aspects of its move to the fifth floor of Colegrave House, pictured, on Berners Street, just off Oxford Street.

Built in 1927, Colegrave House was the former headquarters of retail tycoon Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia Group before being acquired last year by Gamesys. Arcadia, which owned Top Shop, went into administration in 2020.

Beauty Pie has now undertaken fit-out work to the space, which was supported by construction law specialists in the tenant advisory team including the negotiation of the building contract and warranties with the contractor.

The Burges Salmon team was led by real estate partner Richard Clark and included senior associate Andrew Brown, associate Alexia Aradipiotis and senior apprenticeship solicitor Charlie Morgan – all from the firm’s real estate team – supported by director Matthew Crossley and senior associate Christian Mulvihill from the firm’s construction team.

Richard Clark said: “We are delighted to have supported Beauty Pie in its acquisition of this office space in the heart of central London as it continues rapidly to grow its business and its membership.

“This new HQ will undoubtedly assist in attracting the very best people to its talented and ambitious workforce. The transaction was a great illustration of how our highly regarded tenant advisory team can really deliver added value.”

Beauty Pie was previously based in the City of London.
