Bristol-based waste brokerage firm Waste Source has made three promotions as it aims for an end-of-year turnover target of £6m.

Clayton Davies, who joined the company 15 months ago, has been promoted from account executive to junior account manager for the business’s construction customers.

The promotion comes less than three after he broke his back in several places in a mountain biking injury.

Melissa Baxter-Hunter goes from account executive to junior account manager for Waste Source’s hospitality customers, while Alice Coram takes up the role of customer services supervisor.

Waste Source managing director Chris Holland, who founded the business in 2010, said: “This shows that you can come into the business and quickly work your way up the ranks if you show the right skills and aptitude. All of them have worked so hard and deserve these promotions on merit.

“It’s also refreshing to see that all three of them are under the age of 27, which shows that no matter what your age is you can make it in business and have your talent recognised.”

The company, which employs 11 staff at its Tobacco Factory HQ, aims to make waste disposal a simple and environmentally-friendly process. In its last fiscal year it pushed turnover past £3.5m – up 50% on the previous 12 months.

Now it is looking towards further growth to lift turnover to £6m.

The company operates across multiple sectors including retail, hospitality, property and construction among others.

It counts companies such as Caribbean restaurant group Turtle Bay, coffee bar operator Boston Tea Party and retailer Oak Furniture Land among its clients, managing all their waste requirements in an ethical and transparent way.

Waste Source’s mission statement is to make waste disposal a simpler, cheaper and more effective process for businesses of any size, especially those that operate across multiple locations.
