91 ways, the pioneering project celebrating Bristol’s cultural diversity through the food of its various communities, and the city’s Peace Cafes are launching a series of supper clubs next week.

The first will be A Taste of Iran when Iranian-born, Bristol-based cook Zahra will prepare delicious, authentic dishes from her homeland, share her story and what the dishes mean to her.

Zahra is one of the talented team of cooks behind Bristol’s Peace Cafes. During the evening she will showcase and talk about her delicious mezze of Iranian dishes, weaving her heritage and memories into her beautiful cooking.

The event, next Wednesday, will be an exclusive, three-course meal with wine matched by The Guardian’s wine writer Fiona Beckett.

Anyone wishing to attend should pledge £25 on 91 Ways’ crowdfunding campaign www.fundsurfer.com/91ways.

The event takes place at The Station Kitchen, Silver Street, from 7.30pm.

91 Ways – referring to the number of languages spoken in Bristol – was launched last year to encourage people across the city to share the foods and recipes that reflect their heritage and their daily diet.

Through a series of events, it is bringing people together to show and share these foods – helping communities connect with each other as well as celebrate their cultural differences.

91 Ways is the brainchild of Kalpna Woolf, former BBC Bristol head of production and founder of Bristol Food Connections – the festival that celebrates Bristol’s independent spirit and vibrant food culture.
