Bristol law firm Clarke Willmott have been appointed to a panel which will provide public law and procurement and property services to the four authorities which used to form Avon.

North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Bristol and Bath & North East Somerset will share the services in a bid to cut legal costs. The arrangement, which follows a competitive tendering process, will run initially for four years.

Clarke Willmott have worked on some of the most significant public sector-led projects in the South West, including the Bristol and Bath Science Park at Emersons Green (and the establishment of the National Composites Centre), the former RAF base at Locking Parklands, Weston-Super-Mare, Swindon town centre and Bristol Harbourside (including @Bristol and the Watershed).

Ben Pariser, Clark Willmott’s head of public and authorities and regeneration, said: “We are delighted that we have been appointed to the panel. We very much look forward to working with the authorities over the coming years.”
