Bristol-headquartered law firm TLT has completed its third land acquisition in four months for housebuilding group Persimmon Homes.

The latest site – in Tuffley, Gloucester – has planning permission for 250 residential units. Persimmon says the development will go some way to addressing the increasing demand for new homes in the area as it continues to attract residents and businesses.

TLT’s other land acquisitions for Persimmon have been in Calne, Wiltshire, and Keynsham.

TLT, which has a strong commercial property law practice, provided full-scale support to Persimmon’s Portishead-based Severn Valley division, from due diligence through to negotiation and completion including co-ordinating with the other parties.

Persimmon said: “We are pleased to have secured such a significant site, which supports our near- and long-term plans to deliver suitable homes for people across the UK. The South West is such an exciting region, with so many opportunities for people to live, work and visit, and this is having a demonstrable impact on housing demand.

“We are grateful to TLT for their expert advice and high quality of service across these most recent acquisitions, from instruction through to completion.”

TLT associate Cheryl Brady, pictured, added: “This is a significant acquisition, particularly in light of the government’s housebuilding targets and rallying cry for more housebuilding to meet increasing demand for affordable, suitable living for the whole population.

“The South West market continues to be active, with many house builders setting ambitious targets themselves to help meet this rising demand.”
